Khan Academy reports two different measures of its audience: 227 million registered users and 104.9 million learners who used its platform during the 2024–25 school year. The distinction matters because a total registration count is not the same as the number of learners active during a defined period. Khan Academy About page

The nonprofit’s published overview describes an education platform available in more than 190 countries and more than 55 languages. It lists more than 840 free courses spanning K–12 and early-college learning. These are the organization’s reported platform measures, rather than independently measured educational outcomes for every learner.

Khan Academy also reports 20.9 million new registered users during the 2024–25 school year and 75 billion learning minutes accumulated to date. Each measure has its own scope: new registrations cover the school year, while cumulative learning minutes cover a longer history of use.

The organization’s annual report provides further context for the school-year activity measure. Readers comparing reach over time should use comparable periods and definitions rather than combining registrations, active learners and accumulated usage into a single milestone. Annual report

Archive note: the earlier claim of more than 200 million active learners in a July milestone, associated partnerships and attributed remarks was not established.
